I decided to forgo tapping and bought a mirrortap: http://store.blendmount.com/mirrorta...px?Thread=True

Very clean, gets rid of all the extra V1 wires, works great. On previous vehicles I had used a fuse tap but the fuses are in the engine compartment on the Jeep.

Re: Best spot to T-Tap a wire for my valentine 1

'nickimpz',

As far as the powering goes... Hopefully, you have a Jeep with a power accommodating rearview mirror.
FYI, you want to use an 'Invisicord Micro' for the best power cord to tap into the back compartment of the mirror.
Depending on where & how you mount your V1, this cord comes in different lengths... I think I used the 12 inch cord.

And then read 'HYTEK's above thread link very well to brief yourself & prepare to install it.

Hope this helps...

Autodim mirror seems to be included with UConnect (hands-free) so probaby 90% of WK2 have.

Milhous: have 2012 production numbers been publicly released yet ? Those usually have a breakdown by option package.
