Re: BT Catch Can for WK2

BTW, BT now makes a mount for the WK2 catch can that attaches nicely to the fuse box cover.

Re: BT Catch Can for WK2

I wish I would have gotten in on their 40% off sale. I'll have to next time. It's a nice unit, but costly. Back when I had a 2nd gen Neon, people were making their own for $20 in parts, or you could buy generic on egey for about $30.

Chryslers = catch cans and copper plugs.

Very nice looking bay moosehead.

Re: BT Catch Can for WK2

The CC is one of the first things I've done to my two Power Wagons. The 5.7 truly needs it. I was just ordering one for my wife"s brand new 2013 Laredo X. This is a good write up and it saved me a lot of research and upcoming headaches. This forum has helped me the first timed I used it. Good work.

Re: BT Catch Can for WK2

Would there be any warranty issue with the installed catch can?

It collects the engine block's evaporative oil vapors that emit from the PCV valve instead of re-routing them back into the throttle body and intake manifold to be burned by the engine. The Hemi tends to produce vapor than most. In the old days the PCV value tube would literally empty out of the bottom of the engine bay creating pollutant.

It is debatable whether or not engine performance is impacted by these fumes (which collect rapidly back into a good amount of liquid), but they certainly can gum up your throttle body and intake. See posts # 18 & #20 in this thread showing the the material that collects in the CC in short duration. You decide.
