Bwoody CAI Splash DIY Guard - Made from Lower Airbox

The Bwoody is a great fitting Velocity Tube - CAI.
I was concerned with the open gaps in-between fender well & Frame, and open engine bay. Both open areas were directly in-line with Bwoody Air Filter. Winter Slush, water driving, mud, ect were all possible to directly contact the air filter with impact under certain conditions.

I also didn't like the metal strap filling the gap from snorkel. Didn't hold it's shape and with moderate pressure would bend.
Didn't like the OPEN gap, just looked unfinished, incomplete.

My Question... would the flow of air benefit with the snorkel in place? The air would be different air, most likely external cooler air. This air would NOT be controlled, just vented and routed to area of CAI Filter.

I utilized the lower section of the OEM Airbox. This was the only OEM part cut and modified, so if need to return to stock a new lower section would be required. OEM components re-installed were lower section & snorkel.

I've attached photos of the modified part, Assembled OEM Parts, and final look with CAI Air Filter installed.

May be totally useless, but it was a fun project to construct in-between mounting the Fuel Tank Skids. I personally think it looks better, and compliments the Bwoody Product.
