No, the Limited has a regular steering wheel. I hate wood steering wheels.

BTW I called my local dealer and they didn't know how they would be removed. If you want to do the same and you find out anything or if anyone knows anything please feel free to post in this thread.

Re: Can you change out the interior TRIM? Anyone try? Anyone interested?

I would like to swap the slate grey steering wheel on my 2009 Laredo for the wood style steering wheel. I'm not concerned about the color of the replacement whee. Does anyone have one they want to sell? and if so how much $$?

Thanks!
Joe

Be prepared to spend some money because obviously the cars have matching wood on the steering wheels. Its gonna be very $$$ to buy a new steering wheel not to mention installation, unless you know how to do a steering wheel swap. The other stuff I would imagine is all just popped into place like most interior panels.

Re: Can you change out the interior TRIM? Anyone try? Anyone interested?

I totally agree that the black "wood" on the Laredo looks nice. That was one reason I didn't go with the Overland and decided to order the Summit. You may want to note that the wood trim in the Limited and Overland is actual wood while the Laredo is not actually wood... I would imagine the real wood and the fake wood are the same size???

Re: Can you change out the interior TRIM? Anyone try? Anyone interested?

I just ordered an Overland w/ black interior a few weeks ago (arrives next Wed! ) and from the day I placed the order have been trying to find info online about swapping out the wood trim + steering for the Summit's (Black Olive burl) wood. Sadly I'm guessing it will be awhile that I'm stuck with the normal Overland wood -- which I'm not too fond of.

There's a pdf for interior trim removal in this link: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_interior_trim.htm

im pretty sure the pdf does not cover this - ive read through it twice already -- but will again.
I just talked to the dealer parts dept. It looks like you cannot remove the trim panels in the door.

Re: Can you change out the interior TRIM? Anyone try? Anyone interested?

Well. I take what they say with a grain of salt. I actually found some more information. The trim is actually called door appliqué in the parts catalog.

For the Laredo the do not even list it as a separte part(you have to buy the entire door panel apparently to get the black pieces). However for the limited and the overland it looks like you may be able to get them separately.

I dunno, until sometime here actually tries this it's hard to say if they can be removed easily or not.

Re: Can you change out the interior TRIM? Anyone try? Anyone interested?

I wonder if it could just be taped good and painted and clear coat added as well (by a professional). It does seem like replacing with the Laredo black trim would be ideal though (if it's not terribly difficult that is).
