Question Car Cover & Floor Mat Recommendations?

So after much consideration I took the plunge yesterday and purchased a 2016 Grand Cherokee. I'd like to keep it looking as nice as possible for as long as possible. I live in New Mexico and the sun can be really intense during the summer months. I'm looking for recommendations for a car cover that provides good UV and weather protection without scratching the paint, and a front window sun shade that is good quality and fits well. I have four dogs that can get wet and muddy sometimes so I'm also looking for some all weather floor mats to include the seating areas and the cargo area.
I'd really like to hear about products that people have had good experiences with (and bad products to stay away from). Thanks in advance. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Car Cover & Floor Mat Recommendations?

Get Husky Contour Mats, I started with the Jeep Slush mats and they wore through on the drivers side. JUNK. The Husky one's I replaced them with are great and have better coverage too. For the cargo area consider a Canvasback liner. They cover the entire rear area, not just behind the back seat and still allow you to fold the seats. I find car covers sometimes do more harm than good, they can only be used when both the car and the cover are both very clean. If there is any dust on the car, the cover will scratch it, get a garage or car port instead for a daily driver.

My jeep slush mat has just about worn through on the driver side as well. Had it in for 10 months.

I bought Jeep Slush mats, as Weathertech is not available for 2016 (front row), and regretted the moment I received it. The second row mats are a joke and leaves most of the carpet exposed, and front fits snug but not as good as I expected. The cargo was decent, but then it has no lip on outlines and I can see problems with my weekly beach trips in summer. So, I paid 40 bucks and returned it. Bought Weathertech for Cargo and 2nd row and will wait for them to come up with front. I almost tried Husky, but after having bad experience with Jeep Mats, I decided not to try anything. I have had Weathertechs in other cars and it is the best investment imho.

Btw, don't believe reviews on Amazon.. Jeep mats are no way rugged or made of thick material. They were very thin and felt and looked very cheap.

Re: Car Cover & Floor Mat Recommendations?

I ordered the Outland brand on Amazon. Great deal on them. I have a 2011 it's my daily driver and I work in a steel mill meltshop so that means really dirty boots. I have only had them since February, but so far so good and I've always used Huskie liners. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1461894544.956417.jpg

Re: Car Cover & Floor Mat Recommendations?

I have the Weathertech in my 2014 and while they are a nice mat I am disappointed with the area of coverage.

They are short at the left "foot rest" - should be double the length in height since if you put your foot in this area the top of your shoe will be on the carpet. Same goes for the right side near the gas pedal along the side where the side of your shoe will rub on the carpet.

The passenger side seems to be ok since you mostly rest your feet in the middle on that side.

The rear and cargo ones seem to be ok, but we don't use the back seat much and the cargo mat seems to cover the area well but I am thinking of adding some Velcro or something to the backside to hold it in place better as it slides along the rails that it sits on too easy.

Thickness and material seems to be of good quality though and should last a long time (over a year old on ours and still look good).
