For whatever it's worth, I'm currently having various "chrome" pieces on my Overland painted by a high-end body shop. They believe the window surround is stainless, and wanted nothing to do with painting it, as apparently paint tends not to adhere well to stainless.
Reviving this thread. I just took delivery and always ask the dealer to NOT wash or clean it up in any way. I enjoy doing that myself. Anyway I have those rust specs on my chrome trim and was getting ready to clay bar myself. Wondering if I can get ironx or something similar locally rather than waiting to buy on the internet.
Has anyone had success removing this stuff without ironX?
