dent removal

Im the lucky winner of a nice shiny dent on the front passenger side fender of my 2015 altitude. Dealership said they wanted to replace the entire fender because of the size and warranty doesn't cover it. So upon doing research online, I've seen a method using a heat gun and a compressed air can to repair the dent. Has anyone tried this method? Could this potentially ruin the paint?

Depending on the size the paintless dent removal places may be able to help try taking it to one of them. Though intended for hail and doordings i have had them take out some decent sized dents. The key is that the paint is not damaged and that its not on a crease. I had a large one the size of about 3 inches taken out, was barely detectable when they were done and that was much prefered over painting. For $100 i was very happy. Dont let anyone mess with your factory paint unless you have to. Plenty of threads on here about them not matching flake right on new cars.

X2. It's amazing what a good paintless dent removal guy can do. I had a dent taken out of the back door of my van. You can not even tell it was ever there. I think it ran me about $150, but was worth every penny.
