Differential fluid sale?

Hi Everyone!

I'm planning on doing my differential fluid maintenance in the near future, and found Amazon selling the Mopar 05136035AA fluid (MSRP $45) for $10.44. Am I missing something here? This seems like a really great deal, especially since I don't have the ELSD in my rear.

Genuine Mopar Fluid 5136035AA SAE 75W-85 Synthetic Axle Lubricant - 1 Quart : Amazon.com : Automotive

Re: Differential fluid sale?

My owner's manual states:

Axle Differential (Front-Rear)
We recommend you use MOPAR® Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant SAE 75W-140 (API-GL5) in addition with friction modifier additive.
Axle Differential (Rear) – 5.7L Engine With Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (ELSD)
We recommend you use MOPAR® Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant SAE 75W-90 (API-GL5).
Axle Differential (Rear) – 5.7L Engine Without Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (ELSD)
We recommend you use MOPAR® Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant SAE 75W-85 (API-GL5).

It appears to me that you should be using a 75W-140 GL-5-type gear oil that includes a friction modifier. I just bought a gallon of Red Line from Amazon...
Amazon.com: Red Line 57915 75W140 GL-5 Gear Oil - 1 Gallon

...for $64 delivered. A carton of Red Line ATF too.
Amazon.com: Red Line 30604 C+ Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) - 1 Quart, (Pack of 12): Automotive

Sorry about the hijack. We sorta went off topic

The fluid looks correct for your front & rear diff's. I didn't see where it said GL-5 when I looked at the link you provided, but I believe the part number listed is indeed GL-5.

BTW, great price w/free shipping. Thanks for sharing.

It's all good, just wanted some other pairs of eyes on it :-) the part # is the Mopar #, just seemed crazy being 1/3 the price everywhere else is selling it,and its even being sold directly by Amazon. Guess we'll find out,I ordered enough quarts to get me through a few years :-D

Today 8/15 the price has jumped to $26.92! WTF

I was going to get a couple quarts!
Now I'll wait and see if it goes back done to the price you paid. Nice find!

Holy crap! I got my 9 quarts,it's the legit stuff, right Mopar part numbers and everything. Wonder why/how the price dropped...their automated pricing system must have made a mistake somewhere.
