DRL question? How to keep them on when using the turn siganls?

Hey guys, I've been searching the forums and have come across posts on how to disable the DRL's all together but does anyone know the process for keeping them on when utilizing the turns signals. I like the DRL's but I hate how they turn off with the turn signal. My last car was a 2009 Audi S4 and it did that too but everything was able to be set a certain way using canbus codes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: DRL question? How to keep them on when using the turn siganls?

didnt think it was possible
most new cars i see do this...

why do u want the DRL to be one with ur turn signal anyways??
makes it easier for others to see that u wanna turn when the DRL is off IMO

Yeah the DRL blinds the turn signal, which is why it shuts off.

It's against the law in several states to have the DRL and turn signal lighted at the same time.

How can you hate something like that ?
You do not see it as you are driving and it is a safety feature to allow drivers to see the turn signals. I doubt you will find a solution to this problem, aside from accepting this as a normal operation of the vehicle.

I'd like to see an officer try to give anyone a ticket for that in a vehicle w/ DRLs that does not have that feature. I know in my Tahoe, the DRLs do not turn off when the signal is on.

Re: DRL question? How to keep them on when using the turn siganls?

Headlights don't turn off when signals are used, so why should DRLs?

I don't really care, but I think the above is a valid question.

Re: DRL question? How to keep them on when using the turn siganls?

because headlights are generally used in low light conditions where the amber signal light would be more obvious than full sunlight, next to a slightly yellow bulb

whynot disable the stupid, useless thi ngs and call it a day

I know this is an old thread but take a look at Tail Light Solutions. They have a piece of gear that can be fitted to over come this. I dealt with Ken over email and his customer service was awesome.

Cheers,

Clarkey.

Re: DRL question? How to keep them on when using the turn siganls?

You can make a harness that connects both headlights in parallel, so when one goes out the power from the other picks up the slack.

I just made a HID relay harness w/capacitor that works the same way, no more lights going out when my turn signal and best of all, HID DRL's with no flicker
