That support is made of HS steel, so I would imagine it would be strong.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

Can someone please post a photo of this ridge?

Also any photos of the jeep up on jack stands would be cool too! Thanks.

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
The WK2 SRT8 has little arrows on the side skirts that show the lift points.

They are on every WK2. What I was asking for pictures of is this.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

OK, why are there no photos here? I will have to post some so you guys can verify my technique; this is one area I don't want to F^*K UP!

EDIT, None of the diagrams are that good in explaining.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

I have had my Rocky Road Super Sliders Installed at the dealer and my new Wheels at the tire place down the road. One of these places has bent up and removed paint from underneath the front of the vehicle. My salesman showed me where the jacks points were, he was wrong. However one of the two above mentioned places used this spot and bent the piece. Detailed photos to follow.

I guess one of the service places was out of hockey Pucks. Many people down here have never even seen ice for that matter. Where I grew up the parents would walk out on the ice and beat up the other teams parents. Now, that's a hockey town.

Edit: OK, now I understand what a pinch weld adapter is. But either my dealer or my tire place does not understand this. Damage pictures to follow.

Could someone direct me to a good floor jack and "pinch weld adapter" AKA "Floor Jack Saddle Adapter for Rocker Panel Pinch Weld".

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

Also, I do want to make it clear I have no idea whether the Dealer or the tire place did the damage. One might think the dealer wouldn't make the mistake. However the Tire Place's owner has a WK2. She got it from her son who works for, you guessed it, Chrysler Corporate in New York. I feel I must let it go and simply point out the damage before my next oil change as well as taking pictures before, so it doesn't get any worse.

The dealer, by the way, couldn't figure out how to put the transfer case into neutral and shut it off as I will need to do for towing, the latest edition of the User Guide was updated in May with the correct info, and I have printed and bound a copy. I know that was illegal but Jeep refused to send me an up to date copy.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

Thanks so much for the photos and the work you put into it; I agree with all of your comments and sympathize with you on the damage to the A arms; what kind of clown (probably a young kid that didn't know any better) would attempt to lift 25% of 2.5 tons on an uneven surface such as that!

As for the engineering; who would suspect the front lifting points at such a slender (pinch weld location) vertical protrusion can support that kind of weight w/out showing deformation such as seen in the A arms? As good as the rear lift points are the front pinch weld points couldn't be any worse. So the question remains; where exactly do the service boys place the hydraulic arms to safely support the front of the vehicle?

I can't understand why this information is so hard to come by; risking vehicle damage (like you've experienced) or even worse; a potential injury accident from a vehicle falling off a jack or hoist is unfathomable.
