This guy had a DIY solution that looks like it works quite well.

He uses hockey pucks.....cheap solution if you ask me.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

When people say they use a puck, are they saying they cut it like this video, or are they just putting the puck on the jack/stand and then lifting on the pinch weld with the puck? Why is that supposedly better than just using the jack? Unless you're jacking wildly or dropping the Jeep to quickly, it shouldn't really matter what material is jacking the weld, right?

I'm thinking I'll just cut my own pinch weld jack pad out of a 2x4 and call it a day... The only hockey pucks I have were signed by hockey players

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

I used the ones I mentioned above and they worked great.I suppose you could use hockey pucks as well and you probably wouldn't even have to put a groove in it.
I would not use a block of wood because if you don't orient it properly (cross grain) you will split the wood and the GC will drop...

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

Those looks like they'd be unstable on a jack stand... I wouldn't trust being under the jeep with that.

Incidentally, I jacked up both sides yesterday with a floor jack on the pinch weld no problem with no damage.

Re: Floor Jack Lift Points

After reading through this thread has anybody tried Yadkin’s method of jacking the front and/or back from the transverse frame members? I feel like there is a possibility it could cause similar damage to what 1973Commando experienced on their A-arms.

This would make it so easy to lift one entire end of the car, place the jack stands, and lower the vehicle one the stands simultaneously.
