Folding side mirrors question - 2014 Overland

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to be part of this community as a a new owner of a White 2014 Overland. I had a 2004 Acura TL before this so am going through a bit of a learning curve here.

I love having the folding side mirrors but was wondering if there was a way to have them automatically fold in when I shift into park. I can't find it in the settings anywhere or the manual so I figure its not possible but you guys are the experts and thought I would ask.

Really excited to learn from all of you going forward and am already searching through the forum for some cool hidden features or tricks with the new ride.

Thanks all!

I don't think so after reading PGs 125-127in the owners manual. The only memory setting is for the seats it will automatically adjust the mirrors, as well as having the tilt down feature when backing up. Link for the manual if you would like it http://www.jeep.com/download/pdf/man...kee-OM-3rd.pdf

The mirrors automatically unfold when you start driving over 5ish kph.

But strangely no, the mirrors will only fold in if you push the button - they don't automatically fold.

They don't do the automatic mirror fold-in because it's an "elf and safety" thing........

Thanks everyone! I'll just get in the habit of hitting that fold mirrors button when I park going forward. Would have been nice but the power mirrors make that much easier to do.

I didn't know that the would fold back out if you were going over 5mph might have to test that. I think I've forgotten that they were folded and drove away and they didn't fold back out.

Thanks again for the responses!!

Not sure that is true in USA.

This is not true of my USA 2015 Overland. I've driven up to 40 MPH and the mirrors did not unfold themselves.

You are correct. I check it out yesterday. Now maybe they will unfold if I drive 40 mph in reverse!?

Looks like they unfold only for the export model, as mine do unfold automatically after 5km/h.

Re: Folding side mirrors question - 2014 Overland

Hi
In Australia they only fold in when you push the button. I was doing some trail driving recently where the trees and bushes were very close so I folded in the mirrors to protect them but as you mentioned they go back out automatically when going more the 5ks. It would be nice if Jeep could disable the auto fold out function when in one of the off road modes.
Cheers
Mike

You can pull the mirrors in by hand when you need too, off road.
