Hey everyone, I need a quick how to on removing the front grille. I've heard it's pretty easy but I haven't found a thread on it so if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated!

Re: Front Grille Removal

I've been doing some research, as I want to swap out my stock grille also.

Here's the Mopar instructions found on JustForJeeps.com
http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82212796.pdf

I checked with the Jeep dealer about the four rivets needed. $25 total. I'm not sure if you can get them elsewhere. You'll need a riveter for the poly rivets. The dealer suggested Harbor Freight, and I found this riveter mentioned in another thread:
http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-ri...ets-97757.html

What grille are you thinking about?

You don't need the rivets from the dealer if you get that Harbor Freight riveter. It comes with the correct size rivets you'll need to reattach the bumper.

Re: Front Grille Removal

Here's a how-to thread on kbcarstuff.com that shows how to remove the front bumper on an '11 GC; I presume the grille would be easy to remove after the bumper's off: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011 HID Fog Light installation

I just took the front bumper off yesterday on my 2014,actually very easy,i swapped the grille for the overland chrome honeycomb, just follow the directions on that post, very accurate,5 1/4 clips on bottom 2 push pins up top,2 plastic rivets that u need to cut off and replace,1 ten mm bolt, and 1 push pin on each side that holds the fender molding on,just pull very easy,2 people recommended, work your way across one side at a time, then pull up toward hood, disconnect fog wires,pm me with questions I just did this yesterday with hid install

Re: Front Grille Removal

I've taken my front bumper off twice also; installed HIDs on my '14. This is an easy one man job; the whole cover weighs maybe 10 pounds. Note, though, that the OP has an '11 GC - they're different in that the grille remains when the bumper cover is removed, unlike the '14s where the grille is integrated into the front bumper cover and comes off with it. Little bit different front bumper removal procedure for '14s as opposed to the predecessors.
