Re: Frustated by MOPAR supply chain/Rock Rails

[QUOTE=xJoshxx;792256]Now they're going to fight for 6 hours putting them on ahha.[/QUOTE

My GC will be there all day Friday - hoping they get the rails on in 3-4 hours. A dealership in Colorado Springs offered to do the job for $260 labor, but there were no rock rails available in the system at the time. A nearby rural dealership will be doing the installation - and I'll post some pics after everything is completed in a few more days.

I just got my set of rails in today. Now I just need to figure out if I want to try or have the dealership do it...

Dealer will charge you 2 -3 hours labor and will take 4-6 hours , and even if your mechanically inclined it will take you at least 8 plus hours !!
Im all for doing my own work on my vehicles but I couldnt be bothered with this one! ,,, But thats just me !

That's how I felt about it plus I don't have the lifts needed to do the job or the trim tools to remove the front fascia either.

Bart Man - thanks for all your support during my very long wait to even get the part, can't wait.

Doesn't this belong in the offroad modification section? It's not like an installation thread.

Agreed, never could figure out why a mod moved it in the first place - just doesn't seem like the right section to me.

Re: Frustated by MOPAR supply chain/Rock Rails

How much did the rock rails cost with the part and installation/labor from the dealership?

Re: Frustated by MOPAR supply chain/Rock Rails

MSRP on the rock rails for part # 82212157 is ~$850.00 (Trailhawk # 82213525 MSRP is ~$895.00).

A Colorado Springs dealership quoted me $259.87 for labor, and $26.00 for shop supplies - I think that was a very low estimate. My work is being performed in 48 hours, so I can post the damages later Friday or early Saturday. I figure I will be charged at least 3 to 4 hours labor alone on the rock rail installation, it's a beatch!

There are some avenues to source the rock rails much cheaper, unfortunately due to the supply chain recently being dried up, that has become more difficult. Apparently the vendor for Jeep is back to producing stock now though.

Good luck blum3416.

Are the Trailhawk ones without the tubes really listed for $45 more?

That's what the pricing engine from MOPAR accessories printed out when I checked a while back, doesn't make a lot of sense. More for less!

Re: Frustated by MOPAR supply chain/Rock Rails

Thanks for the pricing info. Dang that is pretty steep! I'll have to check with the dealer where I'm at to see how much they'll charge for the part and labor. I may look into purchasing it online and have them install it if it will save me anything. Yeah I've noticed it's hard to come by, so thats good news that they are making more of them now.

Let me know how the installation and everything goes. Post some pics when its all done if you can. Good luck! I know it will look sweet
