I've been really impressed with Jeff Walker at CO Chrysler Jeep. He and the rest of the wrenches there have a very cool vibe about mods and getting the most outta their own and their customers rigs. It's refreshing and surprising. Bandemere Speedway was mentioned. Mopar still rocks. Heh.

Jorde, Bwoody's install instructions for the velocity intake in the JG vendor section is spot on and very easy. You'll be pleased when you see yours.

Re: Got Wood?

Bump. Added a few extra install tips and photos to original post above to supplement Bwoody's instructions in the Vendor section. Install took about 45 minutes, most of which is getting additional length out of wiring harness to extend IAT sensor.

Re: Got Wood?

Looks cool, moose. Hey, does your engine cover snap in place via those 4 nozzle-looking posts on the underside, or does it just sit on the corresponding pylons? I have tried moderate force to punch mine down on the pylons but no joy, and the oil cap doesn't function as a fastener either. Just curious.

Enjoy your latest mod.

Re: Got Wood?

Moosehead, Great pics and tips. You have a pretty clean engine compartment for snow country. Do you keep up on it, or has it stayed that way on its own? I ordered the drycharger for my intake in the same color as yours (looks great). I hoped the drycharger would be worth it since we will be retiring to Durango in a couple years but if the compartment stays like yours it might have been a waste of money.

Sounds mean, WOT is an audible rocket launch from the engine bay. First time I've heard anything other tham the Borla pipes at WOT. Will do sound clips tomorrow C.

Butt dyno registers incremental +14.5 HP and +11.7 ft lbs torque. Mwahhahahaha.

CP, my engine cover just sits on the posts. WK veterans show theirs punch down onto the posts but my experience similar to yours.

Fireon, thats untouched engine bay at 3800 miles. Only dusty here, little moisture beyond snow. You could go without the drywrap here easily, though maybe good idea to carry one in rear stowage for trail splashdowns or severe rainfall as backstop.

Re: Got Wood?

I have always wondered how CAI's effect MPG? I had one on a Civic years ago and it was hard to tell if it had any measurable change.
