Got Wood?

Bwoody Velocity Intake and Sway Links go into the WK2 tomorrow.

Other than the hose clamps, the bolt head to the left of the throttle body is the only other item that needs to be loosened to get OEM intake off WK2

WK2 with engine cover off and OEM intake removed showing TB. The IAT sensor is the long black thingy to the right with the grey plug and red stripe on it.

Shot downward after OEM filter box removed, not much if any splash up should get to new filter. The OEM filter box lifts up with a bit of gentle force, there are three rubber gaskets on posts that seat the filter box to the engine bay.

The only PITA of the install is lengthening the IAT sensor wiring. You have to pull away or remove the wiring conduit to get enough IAT wiring length to insert the sensor into the Bwoody nozzle opening. Tip: use a small bit of grease on the IAT O-ring, and each hose end connecting the intake body to the manifold.

You also need to trim the driver's side of the engine cover to make a bit of room for the Bwoody mounting bracket. Not a big deal with a small hacksaw blade.

Booyah. Will report back after a few WOT runs today. Heh.

I like the blue. Looks like that filter took a little beatin' though. It's easy to do.

Thanks R, I have the T wrench but had not considered grease.

I was thinking about a dyno test pre and post intake but probably lack the patience.

See Magnuson Moss act for warantee protection, plus my Jeep service manager has a CAI in his Hemi, and ends up promoting the UGI's. He's already talking about the 2012 SRT8.

Like the blue!!

Also Mopar sells their own CAI's so its just a matter of time before they release their own "version" for the 2011. So its not disapproved of...

what dealer do you use moose?

and yeah get some grease; i used the marine stuff last time; but anything will be good. those poly bushings and the added stiffness make squeeks so a good grease on assembly is a good idea. the faces of the bushings is what mike bwoody told me with mine.

What do you recommend greasing when installing the intake? The faces of which bushings?
