Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

Got mine too. DVD makes no sense unless you have a laptop. I know it's cost savings, but I used to love sitting in a new car with the manual and reading/learning about all of its features.

Well said! I still love going through the manual in a new car. Nerdy enough to read them cover to cover, though they've gotten so fat in recent years that I can no longer do it in one seating.

Rich

Add me to the nerd group then I love the new car smell, sit there playing with all the gadgets and reading the manual.
I thought the DVD would be enough, but watching it on the nav screen is a pain. Then I thought, I'll download the manual to my iPad, but none of the illustration show on screen.

I'm all for going paperless when I can, but not in this case.

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

Well...I've ordered paper manuals twice for my 2012 WK2. Both times, they have sent me a manual that only has maintenance information for a 6.4L V8. If you have received your paper manuals for the 2012, then I suggest you check the maintenance section specifically for fluid requirements and service intervals. The paper manual they've sent does NOT match the PDF's that came with my ride. The PDF's list the 3.6 V6 and the 5.7 V8. The PDF's do NOT list the 6.4 V8. They either have a printing issue or an ordering issue (sending SRT8 manuals). I spoke to them again today and they are supposedly going to have someone with a clue call me next week......

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

You're right. I received the 2012 manual yesterday. Although it doesn't specifically mention the SRT8, it does refer to the 6.4L engine. However, the maintenance intervals do match the 2011 manual download and the recently posted 2012 manual download.

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

I called on the 9th for their three-part package of printed goodies, gave a cheerful lady the VIN and media center number, then waited in vain. Finally having received nothing after three weeks, today I called the direct number (thanks, markp99) and by good fortune got the gentleman who heads the Publications section. He couldn't have been more helpful, and indicated the packet will go out Monday via UPS.

He welcomes direct calls at: Al, Publications - 1-877-847-7166

For whatever it's worth, Al said that the #1 model they receive calls about is the WK2, followed by the Dodge Ram 1500.

I'll have to give that a try as well. As I said earlier, its been months and mine haven't come. Obviously something happened. Really no big deal, but I'd like to try.

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

On the fourth attempt Jeep was finally able to send the correct manual for my 2012 WK2. Hooray!

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals
