Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

I called, very friendly. They said I would get them in three to five working days. By day six, they were sitting in the mail box. I was surprised how much more there was than the user guide.

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

So on the first call (to the Canadian office) I received the 2011 GC manual, UConnect manual, Warranty information for V6, RER manual. Which is great, except I have the V8 Hemi which I forgot to mention and I have the RHB, which I definitely mentioned when I ordered.

No sweat, called back, and asked for the V8 warranty booklet and the RHB manual. She said she couldn't find a line item for a separate V8 warranty booklet. She suggested contacting "head office" - I assume in Detroit. She did note that I had the 430N, the RHB, which she confirmed twice.

A few days later I receive a manual for the RHR. So I have manuals for the RER and the RHR but not the RHB.

Has anyone been able to receive the V8 warranty booklet?

This still works for 2014 models. I ordered them for my old 2012 and the fit was very tight with the rest of the manuals that came with the jeep. It actually took me jamming them in there and bowing the holder a little bit.

This time around I might put them manuals in the cargo compartment in the back or under the drivers seat. I rarely used my first set of manuals, but they are very good to have in paper if you ever need them.

Warranties might be different in Canada. The US warranty for your vehicle simply designates gasoline engine. You can download it from Jeep.com.

" Gasoline Engine: cylinder block and all internal parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger housing and internal parts; turbocharger wastegate actuator; supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner; seals and gaskets for listed components only."

Re: Hardcopy Owners Manuals

So to be clear, when I pick up my 2014 diesel it won't have any paper manuals and I need to call this number? Or can I call them now since I have the last part of the VIN?

I called the day after purchasing the Overland. The manuals arrived ten days later. Owner's Manual is now in fifth edition.

Did they want your full VIN? I guess it doesn't matter as I have my last eight as its being built. I just need the beginning part for the WK2.

Don't rush getting the manual. Since they seem to come out with a new addition every couple months, why not wait a bit.

You can download all the manuals, (you probably did) and it is easier to find what you're looking for using the search feature in Acrobat.

I mentioned this awhile ago. I bought a Kindle reader that I keep in the console. It has all the updated manuals and some reading material.

As I'm typing this it dawned on me that instead of the console, it might fit on the shelf in the glove box.

While I do like having the digital version, still nothing beats relaxing in your reading chair with a good paper book!

I agree and have the paper version on a book shelf in the house. But I was disappointed that only a couple of weeks after I got mine a new one came out. That's why I'm just saying don't rush.
