I saw this as well in the early digital copies. Do we just follow the latest or do early builds need to go by the earlier copies? I'd hate to think I'm ok going well beyond 30,000 and have them deny me any warranty work because I'm supposed to follow revision 2/3's schedule due to when my vehicle was built.

I have a 2012 Larado X with the 5.7 hemi. I changed my plugs with OEM NGK LZFR5C11 @ 43K miles. The gap measured .001 over factory spec. and all were clean. The change took approx 1.5 hours following the procedure in another post. Based upon the condition/wear I found I will wait for at least an additional 60K before I change the plugs.

Think about it. The vehicle came with no owner's manual. If you bought a new vehicle today that was built in March and called for an owner's manual you would get the current edition. It gives no vin numbers or build dates on this chart.

What damage could old spark plugs cause that would otherwise be covered under warranty. There might be something, but I think many people spend too much time worrying about what ifs.

The thing to know is that IF the dog didn't stop to take a shit, he would have caught the rabbit.

Re: Hemi spark plug change interval?

Milous,

Can you confirm if we're OK to go 100,000 miles now with original OEM copper spark plugs on a 2012 WK Hemi 5.7L?

Re: Hemi spark plug change interval?

I changed mine recently at 50K. That was too long. I would suggest staying close to the Mfg suggestion. Raptor had an update somewhere (maybe even in this thread) that a 100K plug for the Hemi is available.

According to bill_de, the manual actually says 100k.

I was referencing version 5 of the 2014 manual. Josh, I believe, has a 2012.

Re: Hemi spark plug change interval?

Was there that big of a change to the engine from 2011-2013 models to 2014+ to have 70k miles worth of difference between spark plug changes?

I'll be coming up on my spark plug change interval at soon. If just moving up to the spark plug that the 2014 uses and getting 100K miles out of it sounds like the right move. (Or even changing it at 60k miles).

Reading through this post and other posts, it appears most people are discussing using copper vs other; but no one has posted if the engine is the same and they are just using a different S-plug.

No the engines are the same... but the OEM factory plug is now a NGK 100K mile iridium plug made for Mopar specifically for the 5.7L Hemi engine.
