HID info please help!!!

Ok, so i have a 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo X
I have stock housing non hid's and want to put hid's in my new truck. I've put hids in all my past cars, civic si, hyundai santa fe, all easy to install. Ive been looking at peoples posts about hid info and i will be using DDM Tuning like i have in the past. Saw somewhere that no hid kit will fit stock fog light connector/ may melt fog light housing. Also should my kit plug and play or will i need a wiring harness/ error code eliminators for both or either low beams or fogs. Just asking everyones input so i put my order in right the first time. Please someone get back to me asap.
Thanks,
-Nick

Re: HID info please help!!!

HIDs or any higher wattage bulbs than stock will melt or discolor the fog light reflector/wire eventually. Bright high power LEDs will not (PSX 24W (2504)), and the LED bulbs are a plug and play replacement. Dunno about headlights. There have been suggestions about how to modify the stock fog assembly to be more robust, but I dunno how well they worked.

Re: HID info please help!!!

yea figures...well i know the stock fog bulb is 24w and hids are 35w but hids run cooler but then if you look up wk2 fog light melting on google a ton of people with 2011 wk2's and stuff say hid kit melted their housing...and as for my low beams, i still dont know if i need a wiring harness or error code eliminator etc.

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
I'm running a DDM tuning kit, 35w, with relay harness in my WK2 SRT8 fogs without issue. I have different fogs than you though.
