How do you swap a dead battery with electric seats?

How do you gain access to the battery compartment if the battery is totally dead and the vehicle is equipped with electric seats?

LOL!

Hook a battery charger to the posts under the hood and start charging it. While it's charging you should have enough power to move the seat forward, then disconnect the charger before working on the battery.

Special charger:
Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - AGM Battery
Marine Battery Charger | Motorcycle Battery Charger | OPTIMABATTERIES

Hot Rod Magazine has an article on how to get a completely dead AGM battery started charging by hooking up a charged battery in parallel with your dead battery and then hooking up the charger:

Re: How do you swap a dead battery with electric seats?

Aren't there just 4 bolts that hold the seat in place? If a jump doesn't work, a wrench might be quicker than trying to charge the battery.

If the dead AGM battery won't give enough of an electrical load to the battery charger to make it start charging, try turning some electrical accessories on in the car.

As in, turn on the headlights, and/or have someone hold their foot on the brake to turn on the brake lights, then hook up the charger and see if it starts charging.

Re: How do you swap a dead battery with electric seats?

Well the battery had 6 volts in it, i managed to remove pos battery terminal and charge the battery directly on the battery. When I was trying to charge it via the terminals under the bonnet, all the dash lights kept flashing and relays kept on clicking on and off. I used a Calibre 12v 8 amp pulse charger and all is good now

Re: How do you swap a dead battery with electric seats?

Has anyone changed out their battery on a 2015 WK2 and not been able to get it to run? The jeep turns over but then turns off. Did a little research late tonight and I guess older models had a security module that when you replaced the battery had to be reset. Has anyone experienced this on the 2015s?

Cut out the battery from under the truck.

Re: How do you swap a dead battery with electric seats?

Found the solution this morning working with the dealer. Turns out for some reason my keys reset. I needed both FOBs in the car when I restarted. So I disconnected the battery again, let it sit for about 60 minutes, reconnected it, used both fobs to lock and unlock the card, put them both up on the dash, and it started right up.
