mopar 55111916AQ for the lowest price I think I paid like a little over 200 for mine? Then when you get it you will just need to snip off the little tabs that are on the hook up that goes in the back of the unit. For some reason the unit does not have slots..

Re: How to add Auto HVAC to your WK2!

Awesome write-up! Just what I was looking for.

Here's a question for those that have the dual-zone add-on and a Mopar remote starter (not third-party; starter is on Jeep FOB)...

Does your W2K obey the climate control setting when you activate the remote start? I have the manual climate control now and a Mopar remote starter that I had installed by the dealer when I bought the vehicle. When I start my W2K (2013 GC Laredo) with the remote starter, the car starts with the heat on full blast regardless of what the climate control knobs are set to. It's great for Boston winters... but not ideal in the summer.

My question is: with the dual-zone climate control unit installed, does anyone know if the remote starter will actually heat/cool to what the thermostat is set to?

Cheers,
APM

I have the factory remote start, and I added the auto hvac, I'm sure I have some posts/pictures somewhere in this thread.

Unfortunately for me the auto hvac does not work until I get in and press the start button. IIRC, there is nothing lit up on the hvac until I press the button, or maybe there is, but nothing is happening.

There are some threads about guys that had both from factory and still wasn't working correctly.

I have thought about asking the dealer to see if there's anything you can do, let me know how you make out.

Re: How to add Auto HVAC to your WK2!

So, for what it's worth, I just talked to my old college roommate who has the exact same model year W2K GC I have (2013).

He has a Limited; I have a Laredo. His came with the remote starter and dual-zone climate control from the factory. He states that his Limited does the same thing as mine/ours -- if you use the remote starter the heat comes on full blast regardless of the thermostat settings.

That's pretty poor.

I have a 2012 with factory remote start and factory auto HVAC.
In the summer, the A/C kicks on (remote start).
In the winter, the head kicks on and the driver's seat heater comes on High.

If your buddy's GC doesn't do that he needs to go to the dealer and complain until it does.

There was a tech service bulletin about the A/C not coming on in the summer, but a quick update at the dealer fixed that for me.

I'm guessing that the guys that are retrofitting the auto HVAC just need to visit a 'friendly' dealership that will add the correct 'code' to their vehicle and the system will work correctly.
