hi everyone i am going to install HIDs on my WK2014 low beams but i was wondering if anyone have installed before , how is the installation with the harness and Canbus . do i only need that ? and what is the best place to put the ballast because i can't find a place to put it under the hood thank you and have a great day
what i ordered - :
Hid CANbus Ballast
6000k bulb
Harness with capacitors
Canbus Fix
note : i know an article is pinned on this sections but it's pics are not loading for me idk why :/
I removed the air box and intake plastic plumbing. Gave me a ton of room to locate the ballast and ground wire.
Passenger Side:
You'll need the remove the ECU and loosen the coolant bottle to access the the low beam cap. It also made it much easier to zip tie the various wires and modules. Couldn't find a good place to locate the ballast on this side. So I decided to mount to the ECU bracket.
Good luck! It's easier than you think. Take your time and test everything before you mount the ballast, modules and wires to the car.
Hi. thank you very much for the pictured intructions just another question . what did use in your install ? my kit comes with :
Hid CANbus Ballast
6000k bulb
Harness with capacitors
Canbus Fix
do i need to use all of them ? (harness , capacitors , canbus fix )
and i can't see in the pictures where you attached the ground wire on driver said ?
thank you very much
and a pic if you can't after installing it .
hate those Halogens :
Hi if anyone has experienced this issue with HIDs.
I have installed the kit and i had a problem ever since, sometimes one bulb will not come up it was random sometimes driver side sometimes passenger side i have to turn the lights on and off 4 or 5 times to get them working but they were working ok like 9 of 10 times , but now it has been annoying 8 of 10 times they both wont come up or one side and i have to turn them on and off like 15 times to get them both working . it's ignition problem but when they are on they are great no flickering issues and the drl option is off. I am using Relay harness, capacitors and canbus Ballast
Sorry becuz i made it long
I would try flipping the plug that goes into the ballast. I had this same issue. I know that if the negative and positive don't line up for both ballasts, it can cause the issue you're having. Try that on the side that won't light up and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, it could be a bad ballast.
I fixedy previous issue by turning off auto turn on option , but i want to fix the DRLs if anyone can help , when i activate DRL option from the screen the low beams flicker only whem there is light not at night i installed resistor as well but the don't make much difference :/
