I've been looking for the same thing........I've read that you have to break the tabs unless you take the rear bumper off. How did you get the front up, just with a pry tool? I've been wanting the Black Ops rear step pad but the lack of any type of install how to has deterred me, and I certainly don't want to take the bumper off. Hope you figure it out!

Well then, I guess what I read somewhere on this site was wrong about the pad just coming off

Timeout haha, I'm guessing the chrome surround comes off after the pad comes off. I put everything back together a while ago before I started breaking stuff.

So in theory, if you're replacing with the Black Ops piece and don't mind breaking the tabs on the factory piece it's not a big deal?

Re: How To: Removing Rear Step Pad WK2, Pics and ???

well.....I put the black ops pad on my 2013 SRT....I didn't remove the bumper and broke the tabs on the step pad. I highly suggest if you buy the black ops pad....to remove the bumper and install it correctly.

Re: How To: Removing Rear Step Pad WK2, Pics and ???

So if I wanted to paint/replace the chrome trim and not break the tabs off the step pad I'll have to take the bumper off. Guess it's staying chrome for now. Thanks for the input Scott, saved me from breaking something.

Re: How To: Removing Rear Step Pad WK2, Pics and ???

So if you install a new one, do you have to take the bumper off to secure the pad, or do the tabs snap in from the top? Only thing holding me back from getting the CF piece! I'm sure I could swing taking the bumper off, but I try not to remove panels on cars if I can help it, they never seem to go back exactly right for me.

Re: How To: Removing Rear Step Pad WK2, Pics and ???

I would if I did it again. The tabs on the cf piece from black ops are fg/cf type material and I broke a few of them and had to secure my pad with 3m tape. Look at the pics of my 13 deep cherry srt. I did the red cf pad.
