This is a DIY for those who want to run the DRL LED Strip only on the Anzo / Eagle Eye halogen headlights. There may be other ways to do this, but this is the way I did it, and I feel like it came out great.

Also, a shout out to rt66er for this tip.

Things you need

First, take a look at the back and you will see a salmon colored plug.

Twist and pull out, and you will see 4 colored wires, Black / White / Red/ Blue

You want to cut the White and Red wires.

I used a nail clipper, because I'm lazy and that was the closest tool in reach while I was doing this.

Then, you will see a black rubber "elbow" which is the vacuum. This, you just pull out easily. Underneath the rubber elbow is the hole where you will be feeding the cut wires through

Here are the wires cut

Feed the two wires underneath and up. Use a tweezer to pull it out as this helps.

Feed the wires again through the rubber elbow

Reattach the rubber elbow over the hole

Now comes the wiring part

You will need this wire cutting tool, and a pack of 18 to 22 AWG butt splice, preferrably the one where you can shrink with a torch or source of heat.

Please look up how to attach a butt splice. It is fairly self explanatory so I won't go over it here.

This is what it should look like

This is the plugs

Then I torched the ends to shrink it

This is the MALE plugs attached. You can choose to do either male or female.. it doesn't matter.

Note Again: You can use the plugs that came with the DRL controller.

MAKE SURE YOU ATTACH RED (positive) TO RED (positive) AND BLACK (ground) TO BLACK (ground) ( White is also ground in the case of the headlights)

I wrapped in high temp electric tape to make sure it wont move and give it extra protection

Then, you will see the DRL controller that comes in a pair of plugs for each side of headlights.

See the diagram provided on the Amazon site:

The DRL Controller has a white and yellow wire also attached. Disregard these. You can cut them off too if you want.

You can use the plugs that came with the DRL controller, or if you want to use your preferred plug, you can cut the plugs on those and splice and attach the female plugs onto each side.

Install the headlights onto car.

Then the rest is self explanatory, where you wire the DRL controller to the positive and negative terminal under the hood.

Then you simply plug everything together.

This is a great write up and the finish looks awesome with just the DRL's on. I've made a complete attempt not to cut into wires for my mods in order to preserve OEM and to eliminate FCA saying I caused a problem if one to arise and I needed service.

But.....this looks brilliant and I am now on the fence.

Will this work with switching to the DDM HID kit as well?

Great write up i followed your guide and added 3 HID kits while i was at it. I did hook up the blue acc from the DRL box to the cigarette lighter fuse merely as a backup. Other then that the guide worked perfect. i am having an issue with the new headlight housing low beam, the passenger side is slightly higher then the driver side. I have found the adjuster for the low and turned it to the left all the way but that just released the projector lens from the housing. I noticed a small bolt that locks the adjuster in place can anyone confirm that i need to simply loosen that bolt and slide the projector lens by the threaded bar that goes through the plastic to the desired location. You can see the low beam adjuster in the pic located below the high and low beam and directly in the middle of them.

That's not a bolt that needs loosened, that's the adjuster itself. You need a long Philips screwdriver and you loosen or tighten it to adjust the headlight. The threads from that bolt and the threads from the shaft on the projector adjuster interlock so it moves the projector up and down.

I did this today. Thank you for the write up. Ill add to this. when you connect the power and ground wire of the drl controller only one light may light up at first with the car off.
It seems when everything is plugged in and hooked up the way it should be it works fine once u power up the vehicle.

Also whoever said you lose the auto headlight option. Thats false

I did have an issue with the drls staying on today after i turned fhe car off. They were on a half hour after i turned the car off. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? Will disconnecting the drl module red wire from the postitive on the battery to say the cigarette fuse possibly work?

Guys, I recently traded in my JGC.. I have a set of these lights and all the stuff to install them for sale. The box for the lights has never even been opened. I waited to long to send them back. Let me know if anyone is looking for a set cheap. Just need them out of the garage.

thanks,
Rob

Ok so I did this whole set up today works good

When the car is in park the angels eyes are working

The headlight knob can turn on and off and auto

When I put it in drive right away the low beams come on , no matter WHAT setting I’m in
Auto , off , parking lights the lows and the angels eyes are always on

What do I do to fix it
I want the angel eye to be on day time and st night auto turn on low beams with the angel eye also

It’s weird cause when I’m in park it works fine
