Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

I ran into a problem with my cargo mat installation. I wanted to open the tire cover and it wouldn't open. I had to empty the cargo area out (I had a heavy box and a case of water strapped down with the tie down hooks ) before i could open the cover. Now I'm concerned that it might be related to my cargo mat self install. I wonder if I would have had this problem if the dealer had installed it for me?

Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

Why would you want to open the tire cover?

Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

Thinking about getting one of these but was intimidated with the install risks at first. Thanks to your DIY I feel much more comfortable installing the cargo mat.

The key point is not to put anything on the cargo mat. What do you want to do, get the mat dirty??

Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

Has anyone painted the cargo mat body color? Not sure I like the dark gray matte finish.

Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

I painted mine but it looks terrible. I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: Installation: Mopar cargo mat

I've had my cargo mat installed for about a year now and have noticed a decrease in MPG over the last few months. Anybody had any luck SeaFoaming the mat? If so, what's the easiest way to do it?
