Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

Does not have them as in they are out of stock, don't carry them or don't exist for purchase as a single component?

Did you get a part number or a real good description?

I'll ask my parts guy and I have another source I can check with, just need something to give them.

I searched on google, mopar and trademotion myslef but didn't find anything.

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

I asked the member on the other forum who said you do not need to change the clock spring if he knows where to get one because it appears you do need to change it. So we will see what his reply is.

Also, did you use a steering wheel puller to do this?

And, you said that your wheel had the harness already attached. Was there a part number listed on it in-case I find a wheel with without the harness attached?

Finally, the Heated Seat/Wheel Control module, part No.: 5026632AK, how is that different than the module our Limited's currently have for our heated seats?

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

Yeah my clock spring has an empty port where the heated harness clips into. There are no contacts on the inside.

You just need a 10mm allen head (i think it was 10) to crack the bolt loose and then just pull the wheel off by hand.

As for the Heat control module, I still have mine in the box, I wasnt going to install it until i get the clock spring figured out.

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

FOUND IT!

Parts.com has it but they want $45 to ship it...NO WAY!

AND it turns out that Trademotion DOES have it, if you type in clockspring it doesnt come up, but if you navigate through restraint systems then it shows up. So there are 3 clock springs, one for the Laredo(no memory), Limited (memory w/o heat) and Overland (memory and heat). Its still $300 though...i need to check around here because somewhere there is a test vehicle that has one in it that its getting scrapped. We are getting there hassler!

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

nice find... wow, thats a lot of coin, more than the wheel...

Makes me sick to think that I didn't order my Wk2 the way I wanted it. Just think $1,495 would have got us the htd wheel, ventilated seats, telescoping column and pwr liftgate. What did I know, two dealerships told me in mid-late October that they were unable to place orders for the new Grand Cherokee. I had no reason to not believe them.

Well, heres to finding a the part somewhere cheaper....

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

Yup i was thinking the exact same thing. Should have just plopped the LuxII on there...but I was already over my budget on the vehicle even with a CDI.

Im already $300 into this project so Im pretty gung ho to finish it. I still have 5 months before it gets cold so I will keep searchin for a better price.

I really need a connection with the Chrysler test lab up here. I throw Toyota clock springs in the garbage every week, just working for the wrong company!! lol.

Thanks Milous Do you happen to know if this part number is the same for all of the colors?

Re: Installing heated wheel on WK2 Limited w/o Lux package

UPDATE! Sorry its been a few months!

Ok i FINIALLY got my hands on the clock spring. There is one more hiccup for me to figure out. I didnt realize that the clock spring for the heated wheel also includes the switch for power tilt, which my column cover does not accommodate since I have manual. I haven't tinkered with it much but i need to figure out if the switch can be removed, or just cut it off.

Hopefully one of these weekends coming up I can start the transplant.
