Interior lights, need help

Does anyone know how to take the front dome light bulbs out. I got the tap light out but can't seem to figure out the other one. Picture for reference. NON-LED light is the one I want to take out. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445511795.118417.jpg

Re: Interior lights, need help

The funny thing is the "yellow" bulb actually is an LED. It's a LED chip soldered onto the board. So unless you have soldering skills there isn't a lot you can do with that bulb.

Angle of pic, but yeah, I pulled and striped the house today to take a look at the circuit board. Why they still put yellowish lights in cars is beyond me

Re: Interior lights, need help

Yeah, I replaced mine. It took some soldering skills to replace them. The hardest part is not melting the thin wire in the ribbon cables when de-soldering the old LED.

Help with LED

just did mine on monday, it wasent easy but not super hard, if you have never soldered or messed with stuff like this i would find someone who has and ask for help. i put regualr wire on the ribbon cable so it was easier to attach to new led . i also just hot glued the new led to the board

Help with LED

Where do you get LEDs like that from? I'm looking to do that same thing. And to do that to the little footwell light that's on while the jeeps running.

For the map lights, the ones you have to solder, I bought these:

As discussed in this post:
2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog

For the other lights, I used the bulbs listed in my two posts here:
2014 replacing bulbs with LED's interior , replace headlamp/fog
