iTunes playlist

Just filled up and put in an SD card on my new GC, but the playlists I've created don't have any songs in them. I used the "export playlist" feature in iTunes and saved it as .m3u but still the songs aren't appearing.

Has anyone else successfully used the export playlist feature in iTunes? Should I just give it some more time to catalog the card? I drove around for about 2 hours, but I have close to 10000 songs, so maybe it needs more time...

I haven't done this for Uconnect, but I did do it for other systems that read SD Cards. Basically, the paths in the M3U files need to be edited to remove the beginning of the song path (the volume information) up to /Music, and including the "/" just before Music.

Re: iTunes playlist

If you have a Mac there's also an app in the Mac App store called "Playlist Export" by Eric Daugherty. That's what I use to update my SD Card all the time. I don't think it's horribly expensive, but I don't recall. Makes exporting your songs/playlists pretty easy.

Re: iTunes playlist

I put music on the USB drive for my GC by dragging the contents of the playlist onto the USB drive. No playlist export required. Easy peasy.

Same problem here with my 2015 GC. I think it's an iTunes issue. When I created a new playlist with Media Moneky everything worked including album art.

Re: iTunes playlist

I ended up figuring out how to get this corrected. I followed the link posted earlier in the thread (Transfering iTunes music to USB with Playlists) and was able to get them working using this.

Essentially, iTunes creates the playlist using the original directory, that becomes irrelevant when transferred. So, you need to edit the filepath for each song in the playlist (using find/replace) to do so.
