Re: LED Approach/Entry/Puddle Lighting Mod write-up!!!

I like it. Makes you wonder why these weren't standard in the first place.

Re: LED Approach/Entry/Puddle Lighting Mod write-up!!!

found these on vleds. ALOT cheaper than what i paid, I just didnt want to wait on ordering parts. $50 shipped as opposed to about $85 locally. They are the same color rating, 6k, smd. You can also select any length you want. Mine are about 48". Also you can select any kind of bulb or board adapter you want which will definitely cut down on install time and help with a cleaner install. check em out!

Don't get me wrong, I like it! Definitely something I'd like to DIY before it gets too hot.

Bill,

Could you help me out - I'm looking at the lights you provided a link to but which board adapter do I need (I'm assuming 194 T10) and how much wire extension should I get? Also, do I need both the quick splice connectors from Radio Shack and the adapters?
Sorry if these are dumb questions. Thanks.

Re: LED Approach/Entry/Puddle Lighting Mod write-up!!!

hey ants,

The adapters would be for different applications. In order to have the lights work with the lock/unlock open/close they must be spliced into the interior footwell dome. i would just order them bare with just the wires to duplicate the application that i did. Definitely would recommend the clips i used from radio shack. I would also order the wire extension to probably 24". A little extra play in the wires would be nice and you can always bundle up any extra with a zip tie if necessary. good luck!

Here's what I did a few weeks ago. They are useless during the day. They really light up nice a night when you need them the most.
