I have the pictures, its just not letting me upload them and I'm not sure why. Never had this problem before, but I'll keep trying.

Re: LED License Plate Lights Install w/pics

Guys,

The Philips 194 LEDs have arrived, but they will not work in my Jeep. My license plate lights don't have an actual place to plug in a bulb. I can take some pics and show you later, but essentially, the lights themselves are an entire assembly that plugs directly into the wire connector. So, when you remove the little plastic tab like others have suggested, my tab is actually part of the housing itself (all one piece) which has the original lights, wire connector, etc. And there isn't even a bulb there that I can tell. They must already use some type of LED.

In any event, I now have the Philips 194s, so my question is, can they be plugged in to any other lights (dome, trunk, etc) inside the vehicle? I'd like to use them now that I have them.

I'm going to re-order my lights from Jeep and see take the car in to the dealer to have them take a look at why it might be burning out.

EDIT: looks like the LEDs fit in various interior lights including dome and trunk, so I'll be all good.

Re: LED License Plate Lights Install w/pics

I think the dome lights and others work with that led. If you do put them in the dome please take pics. I'd like to see what it comes out like.

Re: LED License Plate Lights Install w/pics

Done, I can take pics tomorrow. They are in the dome lights now and in the top side lights above the 2 back doors illuminating the back seats.

They looks bright and fantastic. I think I'm going to get 4 more bulbs and do the 2 lights in the trunk lid and the 2 footwell lights in the driver's side and passenger footwell.

I'll take some pics tomorrow.

It does not, I just have the comp package wheels. Mine is an 06 actually. I'm in the process of doing a CSL conversion (whatever is practicable) and that way I get the best of both worlds, so to speak. As much as I like the comp package, I couldn't get over not having all my steering wheel controls, I think that's more for someone who tracks their car a LOT, which I don't do.

Same thing i noticed on mine, there was no actual bulb, so i ended using whatever extra bulbs on the interior and trunk lights.

Yeah but you can use them on interior, and they look really great that way. I've replaced almost all interior lights with these now. I just need to do the front footwells and the trunk lid.
