Re: Lockpick install writeup

Received my LockPick CHR550 - Removing the bezel and the radio was extremely easy. Plugged the grey ends in just fine then went to attach the white ends from the car to the CHR550 and the pins were way off and would not push together. Already sent it back knowing how soft those pins are and the ease they have to bend I figured it was best to not try and jam it together with some force because that would probably just hurt the pins anyway. If it wasn't going to attach as easy as the other pieces then it wasn't going to work. So hopefully they send me back a better set of cords and I will be able to use this.

I had the same issue but fixed it myself because I wanted to use the unit for my Xmas road trip.

Re: Lockpick install writeup

Yeah I actually couldn't send it back today got a little too late so I took it over to a friend who is a pretty good tech guy and he was able to realize that all the pins on the white connector seem to be a little too high to match up so he pushed them all down a touch and was able to get it connected and got it installed just fine - i ran the USB cord down the right side and used some velcro to mount it just under the glove box for easy access with my laptop - put the ipod cord in the compartment under the bezel - seems to be working well now - theres an app that I use on my ipod to stream sports - justin.tv - that doesn't seem to show up on the screen unfortunately, I was hoping that it would work - overall good product now just waiting for my first road trip

Anyone in the southern CT region that wants any help with this send me a PM would be glad to help out if you're not comfortable doing it

Re: Lockpick install writeup

Since it looks like u don't have rear DVD, can you confirm that you can do 1 or both of the following:

Play movies from iPhone/iPod on front display either parked and or in motion?
Play DVD inserted into 430 while parked and or in motion?

Thanks.

I have installed the CHR550 and don't have rear DVD, and yes, I can view movies/videos from my iPod touch and a DVD in the 430N while parked and in motion on the front screen. There is a "dip" switch setting on the CHR550 to turn off this feature if you don't want it though.

Re: Lockpick install writeup

The app has to support the video out/TV out function in order for it to show on the screen. Most of the none video type apps don't do this but it should play the audio.

Re: Lockpick install writeup

Not to bring back an older thread, but where have you guys purchased your lockpicks from? Also since the GPS says 0 for speed does it effect the routing/time remaining to destination since the speed no longer is working for the GPS?

+rep for writeup, thank you

It does on my 2009 Suburban. Also loses track of your location when the lockpick is activated. Not sure if it happens with the Jeep but I can't imagine it would be much different.

Radside where did you pick up your lockpick from? Think I'm going to order one... Pandora is a plus!
