Re: Long Jeep, short garage

Thanks for the responses!! I'm working on a cross between the Amazon deal and a home made antenna-type indicator. The problem is made more difficult by the fact that the wind howls into the garage at times and that screws up sensitive indicators.

And of course those pesky cottonwood fluffy seeds are really rolling in right now.

Re: Long Jeep, short garage

I use one of these and I don't have to attach it to the floor, I just have the ground marked where it needs to be. This way when I am working in the garage I can move it out of the way and not trip over it, and it allows for me to change where it sits if I am pulling in straight or backing in.

Yup... I use a 6ft long 2x4 I have had the same piece of wood for 20 years. When ever I get a new lease I move the 2x4 accordingly never had a problem.

Oooooh! I may have to try this.
One reason I'm trading in my Avalanche is I'm tired of the roughly 6" combined front back clearance to fit in the garage and I would NEVER consider backing it in. The back up camera in the Jeep should make this fairly simple.

Re: Long Jeep, short garage

The back in option is out for me because the idea is to be able to open the liftgate; so, pulling in is the only way I can go.

I'm thinking about the laser marker. Right now I'm doing the line of sight thing with a mat on top of my workbench--scientific, not; but it is working so far.
