Mopar brake controller require dealer activation?

Hey guys,

I just purchased the factory Mopar trailer brake controller for my '14 v6 with tow package. I was going to do the install myself (just attach the unit under the dash and plug it in, right?) rather than be charged by the dealership. However, is this something that requires dealer activation in the vehicle's computer?

Should work fine out-of-the box if you have factory tow w/hitch
