Just installed mine tonight along with the shark fin i ordered from the group buy. Minutes is an overstatement. Took 30 secs each bezel. All you need is a flathead and a piece of cardboard (I used a wash cloth). I ordered them from a dealer and got them in two weeks. 15% off msrp. Sharkfin took about 5 minutes. Hardest part was getting to the antenna. I placed it as far rear as I could since I thought it looked better! Bezels look beautiful by the way!
I ordered my Shark Fin today. I was looking online and it looks like you just glue the shark fin to the roof over the top of the old antenna location. is that right?
That's exactly what you do. There's a little curly section of wire attached to the underside of the sharkfin. It connects to the post that's left after you remove the OEM whip.
The instructions call for you to tape off the location on 3 sides. I found that the back edge of the fin (which is also the edge where you have the best view for lining everything up) was straight enough that I could use a single 3x3 Post-It note to mark the back only. The end result was perfectly aligned and took a lot less time, and this is coming from a guy who normally measures this sort of thing 15 times with a micrometer (or maybe even a nanometer) to ensure absolute precision. You will love your sharkfin. I haven't seen another one yet here in the DC area.
I have been looking at my new chrome fog light bezels whenever I park the vehicle. I need to get a life.
As mentionned elsewhere, the new style is grained texture with the outer one inch polished. They look great. Incidentally, my first experience with Justforjeeps. com was excellent... received box in one day.
