Re: New ARB Compressor Install WK2

I just ordered the sPOD SE w\Touchscreen for Universal Trucks. I'll be installing it this weekend. I am also scheduled to get my compressor with tank installed next Friday. I was going to install it myself, but I found a local fabricator who will install it for me. I'll update the thread once it's installed!

Re: New ARB Compressor Install WK2

For what it's worth, I had a similar mount to what nicjak. I started with an antenna mount for a WK:

C.B.Antenna Mount / Jeep Grand Cherokee WK

Originally it's flat; it needs to make a tiny bit of a zig zag to fit around the door, as it's slightly different for the WK2, so I put a slight bend in it with a vice. Then I just attached the regular FireStik base, and ran the wires inside the frame. Attached are some pics of where it ended up. The backet came powerdcoated, which got a bit jacked up when trying to bend it around, but I hit it with touch up. They also say to sand some of it off where metal makes contact with medal so you have a good ground for the antenna.

The bracket has a center channel for the wire that protects it a bit. Works well with FireStik's "Fire Ring".

Re: New ARB Compressor Install WK2

Brake cylinder and lines are located in this spot on LH drive
I mounted ARB compressor in similar location, forward of plastic
Did not remove much of the plastic

A neat job! I also had to cut into the shroud. It's a shame because it means engine bay gasses can be pulled into the cabin by the cabin fan. So far I haven't smelt anything nasty other than some road kill.

New setup. May I know how do you draw electrical power to the air compressor?
