Do you have all the part numbers and cost for this set up? Do you just leave them on all the time?

Re: New Thule Rack Available Early April

The fairing is still ok with the panoramic sunroof? I'm also curious what you use the aeroblade for because I think the weight limit is 165 lbs? They do look nice though, I'm debating getting an identical set as well. Thanks for the pictures!

I wish Thule had a lower profile rack and mounts for the wk2 that already comes with the factory rails.

I'm trying to keep the height as low as possible to still be able to enter and exit my garage with it the box on. The racks should be fine height wise though.

I'm just wondering how that fairing works out for you with the Panoramic sunroof? The fairing feet rest right on the front pane of movable glass. Is this a problem at highway speeds? I have visions of the fairing not doing so hot with the sunroof open at high speeds (i.e bowing into the passenger compartment).

Thanks a bunch.

Re: New Thule Rack Available Early April

I didn't think you could get a fairing for the Thule Aerobar's?? Thought the issue was it would not attached to the bars and create more noise.

Re: New Thule Rack Available Early April

I'm not sure I understand this Thule setup....

The Thule website recommends the 480R (not 460) and the 1656 fit kit....

Why the discrepancy?

The 460 was discontinued for the '14 GC, problems with the rails is what I heard. The 480 & 480R plus the 1656 fit kit is now what they are marketing for the GC. I'll be going with that as I need it for hauling a 16' canoe and that mount spreads the load much better. Pricey though.

Re: New Thule Rack Available Early April

Pricey, plus it doesn't use the factory rails....I'm not interested in a rack that's going to smash my rubber door seal and/or mar my paint when I have a perfectly functional roof rail system on the top....I don't get Thule sometimes. That's why I switched
to Yakima years back.

They don't smash or mar anything. The factory rails are not perfectly functional for everyone, they are positioned poorly putting the balance point too far back for hauling long items, like a canoe or a sea kayak. The Thule gets it done. I don't care for the look of any rack on a car, only use them when needed and these go on/come off in 5 minutes. Your needs may be different.
