to me it sounds like they are adding the wiring install to that quote. I literally watched my service rep type the part number off the hitch into her computer and it showed how much the labor cost was. Call your service dept, not the parts dept and ask a rep how much install is on a specific part number.

I dont recall the part number for the wiring adaptor but it is on the adaptor itself if you see one on the lot.

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

Just did mine today at the dealer.. Had the tech come out and confirm the wiring was done already so cost was:

Hitch: $233.00
Adapter plug (minus wiring): $47.00
Install: $109.50

TOTAL: $389.50

Took them about 2 hours to do it. Looks perfect.

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

I just got this done as well

Hitch+wiring+install+program

They originally quoted me a lot more. And did not realize that the 2011s were prewired. Got it all done for around $450.

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

I have a Overland 4x2 Hemi w/o tow package and was wondering if anyone knows if they come with the trailer wiring.

I am looking to add the receiver, but would love to find wiring already run underneath.

Where is the prewire located, behind the bumper?

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

If you have it, yes under bumper on drivers side. May need to be activated by dealer.

I posted a pic of it in a different thread awhile back.

It is post #4 here: How to: OEM hitch Install

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

Bummer, looks like I have no prewire. Guess it was an early build that missed out. Damn!

Those who have had prewire already there, do you know what your dealer had to do to enable the lights to work after hitch was installed? Mine is clueless. Do your paperwork give any info.

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

I am taking mine in on Monday for this. I sure hope my dealer has a clue. I will reply with an update after I get it back.

Re: OEM hitch mount pics?

Hmm, good point on activation., Had mine installed this week by dealer, who seemed mostly clueless.

Install looks fine, but I am not sure it is activated. My utility trailer is out back, and I cannot drag it around to the driveway to confirm (no lifting due to recent surgery)

Any quick way to TEST if activated? Like placing a tester between ground and +pins?

Suggestions?

Any one else have dealer activate lights for them already. If so what dealer and what is their number so mine can call them.
