Oil Filter Cap

I just recently did an oil change on my 14 and when I was pulling the oil filter cap off the filter the cap slipped out of my hand and hit the ground. When it hit the ground two pieces came out, a spring and a plastic piece. My question is what order do they go back together?

Yikes, that sucks.
Not sure I can't help...
They changed the oil filter in 2014.

I'm guessing the plastic piece and spring somehow go together to hold the filter in place.

Pics please (inside the cap and the two pieces).
Perhaps the group can help (especially if someone owns a 2014).

Re: Oil Filter Cap

Took a look at mine. If it were disassembled it would have a spring and a "washer" . Both slip over a post in the cap. The post has a "notch" at the end that holds the assembly in place. The spring goes on first followed by the "washer" or as it is described in the first post as a plastic piece. Pushed down on the post until is "snaps" into place. At least this is hows it is on my 2015.

I would show a picture but haven't figured out how to post them yet.
