Paint Protective Film Install

Has anyone installed the protective film kits that are available? I'm interested in the level of difficulty and how pleased you are with the product. Also, how is it holding up. I'm wondering how long before the film is crazed/fogged/scratched and becomes visible. Thanks!

I applied mine. I used Invisiblemask's film and it wasn't too bad to put on but I have done about 5 or 6 of these kits before. You do need to do a fair amount of stretching and tacking the film with the alcohol mix. They also offer the Scotchguard film but that is older and supposed to be harder to use. My Jeep is dark (red) and I haven't had it long enough to comment on the film durability but it does carry a lifetime warrantee. They will also replace a piece at cost if you need another one,

In the past I have used Clearmask - I think I used the Clearmask A/R on both the other 2 recent vehicles I have done (the others were 5+ years ago). The Clearmask went on easier but on my wife's silver car it has yellowed / darkened a bit. I will be redoing it in the spring. On my dark grey GTI I never noticed any discoloration.
