Re: Passenger side Blend door gear replacement

I don't recall now exactly what the repair order said, And I'm too lazy to go digging thru my files to find it, but I seem to recall that it was either the passenger side or both of them that they say they replaced....they also said my AC system was overcharged from the factory

Re: Passenger side Blend door gear replacement

Had to open up the Actuator and rotate a gear. It was off because of when the blend door gear had broken. Everything works now incuding the fan/blower. I found on another Jeep forum that the fan blower intermitten working is because it's how it alerts that there is a problem with the hvac system.

Thanks, and thank you so much for your help! It was extra special because my dad helped me after he had a heart attack the previous weekend and was brought back with CPR and a defibrillator and a procedure putting 2 stents in blocked coronary arteries, and a 3 day hospital stay, and then this weekend helping me fix my Jeep.

Re: Passenger side Blend door gear replacement

Thank you OP for the very useful info. With your info and a prayer, I replaced the gear on the passenger side of my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 w/ 5.7L. The piece was broken in almost the same place as yours. My jeep has 60000 miles.

Re: Passenger side Blend door gear replacement

Has anyone seen information on replacing this same gear on the drivers side? I'm about to make a post asking for some guidance. One of the screws seems impossible to get free without removing the whole dash, and I'm hopeful there is a trick someone can tell me ...

Re: Passenger side Blend door gear replacement

So I had the passenger side blowing cold when the heat was on issue. I opened it up and the gear was not broken. I put it back together and there is a harsh clicking sound and the heat/Ac won't turn on at all now. I checked and made sure the two gears lined up correctly and move freely. Any idea what I may have screwed up here? Thanks for any help
