How about replacing the VIN in this URL (a random new car) with that of the car in question? I know this worked for almost 1 year after I purchased my car.

Dealer gave me the CarFax on my Jeep when I bought it. I don't remember if it spelled out options, and features or not. From what I remember it was more of a list of service/maintenance than anything else.

I tried the link you posted. That just goes to a window sticker for the random new car, not to a build sheet tool.

As best I could tell, it was 18" rims (which the previous owner had swapped for 20's, and I have since switched back), skid plates, TR badge, and Quadra-drive system. Is that not correct? It's very possible that I was mistaken, since it's just what I was able to find via internet search. Probably doesn't help that I was looking for details in 2016 so I may only have found the current ORA details. Is a '14 with ORA-II just rims, and skid plates, not the QuadraDrive? Not that I really care if it has QD or not but I don't wont to give bad info, like I apparently recently did.

Also adding to my confusion. The link you posted shows Selec-Terrain as part of the QD package. I've got that too, so is the link just saying Selec-Terrain is standard with the QD package, and I have it as an optional item if QD wasn't available in '14 without V8/diesel?
I think I just confused myself. I went to jeep.com to build your own and quadra drive was only available on Overland packages and up. It showed it as a separate option at the place where you select engine size. ORAII is an option in the package section, so I guess if building an overland or above, you can select quadra drive as an option then choose not to get ORAII, or select ORAII which now comes with quadra drive. My 2011 Overland has ORAII with quadra trac and select terrain but not quadra drive. I'll have to play with it some more to figure out when and how you get it. It was not an option on limited, only quadra trac.

Will this even work the same way as a mechanical limited slip since quadra drive is an electronic limited slip? Would the ignition need to be on for both tires to turn in the same direction with both wheels in the air?

I just "rebuilt" my '14 Limited on the website and QuadraDrive is still included with the V8 and ORA2 package.

Hmmm, so now I really have no idea if I have QD or not since it sounds like your '11 is configured like my '14. I'd go jack it up and spin my tires to find out but then you go and say this ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

Um....... Crap..... Probably not. Good point.

I guess my only option to find out if I have QD, or QT would be to find some loose dirt an get the tires loose, but I assume the 4wd would make both spin so that probably won't work either, and there is no 2wd setting for the Overland (either auto or locked).

In the end I guess it doesn't really matter since the point is that both tires will drive. But now I'm curious.

Yeah, it's available with the V8 and 2016 (build/price tool only does 2015, and 2016), but was it part of the ORA 2 in 2014 with a V6?

No, QD2 has never been available on the V6. Must be a V8 or diesel to have it.

Re: Quadra Drive II

Is there a way to crawl under the rear end and look for the rear ELSD? What does one look for?

I was just underneath mine the other day, to fit the skid plate for the transfer case. I quickly noticed the rear diff - not protected by the Trail Rated Jeep skid plates pkg, BTW - but I did not look carefully for the ELSD.

Ah, I see. That's the info I was looking for, thanks.

I saw pictures of one somewhere. There were wires running to a solenoid, or a sensor or a switch or some other electrical contraption sticking out of or into the diff. Just look for wires to the diff.

Re: Quadra Drive II

Heck, that sounds easier than jacking it up and spinning the tires, even if that does still work on the electronic lsd. Just do that.

Select Terrain is a feature separate from QDII.

No WK2 through MY16 with a V6 gas engine has QDII with the rear ELSD, regardless of ORA package. QDII is only available with the 5.7L V8 and EcoDiesel engines.

QD2/ELSD is available (and included in ORAII) with the V6 starting with the 2017 models.
