Yes, but he's talking about a 14 Overland with the 3.6L engine.

Right, and he's been getting some bad info in response. Short answer - his vehicle does not have the ELSD.

No WK2 through MY16 with a V6 gas engine has QDII with the rear ELSD, regardless of ORA package. QDII is only available with the 5.7L V8 and EcoDiesel engines.
Thanks.

Bad info? 2014RedHemiGC, and MDBones seem to have clarified things very well. No QD2 with V6 in 2014 regardless of ORA-II or not, and Select Terrain is a separate feature from QDII.

I appreciate your response that also clarified that it was becoming available in 2017 too, and confirmed the other posts that indicate it wasn't on the '14. Sounds like you all gave me the same helpful info.

Re: Quadra Drive II

You're exactly right, apologies. I read some of the latter posts about "jacking it up to check" as suggesting that it might be there. Never mind.

Ha ha. No need to apologize for trying to make sure the correct info got out there.

Re: Quadra Drive II

I have been following this thread on the Quadra Drive discussion. I am thinking about ordering a 17 Overland with ORA-2 to get the Quadra Drive with the V6. Does anyone know if the rear brake traction control is removed on Jeeps that have the ELSD? I never liked the brake traction control system on my 11 and 14 Jeep Overland. Also, is ELSD the only feature that you now get with Quadra-Drive II. Thanks for any input on this subject. Al

Re: Quadra Drive II

I went to Jeep.com to configure a 2016 using Build Your Own tab at top. In the Powertrain section where you select your engine there is also a selection for quadra-drive (provided the HEMI or the diesel is your engine). At that point it is a stand alone, you can add quadra-drive without adding ORAII and Quadra-drive is all you get till you add some other options. Later at the Options section if you decide to select ORAII then Quadra-drive is included in that package along with skid plates, select terrain, etc. I have no idea if those options will carry over to the 2017 V6 or not, but it's pretty cool that Quadra drive is available on a really optioned out Jeep or you can select it by itself with a more stripped down version. I think the lowest package it was available in was the Overland, I couldn't find it under the limited but I didn't play with it very long.

Were you planning to finish this, Governor? I tried this too, this morning, and tried the same thing. Once you select QD-II, it de-selects the engine choice (3.6L V-6) and says you have to pick either the 3.0L CRD or the 5.7L V-8.

I was under the impression from what Milous had said in his thread on the 2017 Grand Cherokee information, that Quadra Drive II would now be available on the 2017s if a V6 was ordered along with "Off Road 2 (ORA-2)" package. I know that on the 2016 you can't get Quadra Drive II with the V6 engine. He also said no "stand-alone" Quadra Drive for 2017 unless you order the V8 or CRD. At least that is my understanding for the 2017s. Al

I think I hit the wrong button and posted it early. I hit Edit and went back to finish the post. You must have caught me while I was editing. Our posts are not very many minutes apart.

Quadra Drive II

I climbed underneath mine and looked. The ELSD is easy to spot. On my rear diff's model, it is mounted on the driver's side of the diff case, right next to the axle.

I took these pictures, hope they help. You can see the wires connected to it.ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470187020.302696.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470187048.765463.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470187061.941397.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470187074.345091.jpg

Re: Quadra Drive II

Do you think it could be retrofitted from a wrecked vehicle to a non eLSD diesel model and wire it up to use a a simple switch on the dash?
