Intriguing question. How would it work with the braking traction control or would you try to delete that part of it without having warning lights?

Would the braking traction control be brakin wheels that spin independently. Having the rear ones locked like with a locker or lsd would be ok i would have thought.

Your probably right since it would be locked it would probably not need to engage the braking traction control. You could just leave that part as is and should bypass the traction control and not have any codes pop up. I guess that leaves the ELSD and back to the original question. Do you have access to a wrecked one already? You could try it with a switch to the wrecked one before you ever take it apart.

For future reference, you can go here:

Jeep - Contact Us

and click on 'Equipment Listing' under 'Your Vehicle' on the Left. Then enter your VIN to view the build info.

It goes back to 1998. I checked my old JK, WK, WJ, and '01 TJ. It also worked for my 2004 Dodge Ram.

Re: Quadra Drive II

Thanks!!!! That's freaking awesome. I just punched in a few random VIN's to see if they are giving misc information based on the first characters, but they're not. I tried having all the same identifiers, and changed only the car number, the sheets were different. It actually maters what final identifying numbers are, so it's not a VIN decoder, it's an actual build sheet specific to each car/truck. Outstanding, great link.

And yeah, it worked on the VIN's from a few of my old Rams too, so this is likely good for any Mopar Product.

Re: Quadra Drive II

To clarify something... QDII will still not be available with the 3.6L on the 17's. That was a typo in the FCA press release and Milous has placed a * about it on WK2jeeps.com to correct it.

As to adding an ELSD to a 3.6L GC... remember that this is a larger diameter axle (230mm vs 200mm) that also comes with the larger HD brakes. Don't know how that would work as far as brake force distribution, ABS, traction and/or stability controls with the smaller stock front brakes. Something to look into if you're going to try a swap.

Re: Quadra Drive II

Not according to the wk2jeeps.com 2017 info; it still says:

What's New:

• ...
• New: Rear ELSD with Selec-Speed Control Added onto 3.6L

The disconnect may be that it only comes with the Off Road II package on Limited and Overland models. It does not show as available on the Summit or Laredo.

It would be great if they do. You order one and show me... then I'll believe it.

Not necessary. I already proved this with a link to a Window Sticker in the 2017 thread.

Re: Quadra Drive II

It will show up upon start in the EVIC. It will say "QuadraDrive" if it has it and will say "Grand Cherokee" if it doesn't.
