Recommended Break-in

Hola,

Read owner’s manual...not so helpful. I'm picking up my V6 Overland this Friday at a dealer over 200mi away, any recommendations for the drive home? I do plan to follow the manual's recommendation to vary the throttle while cruising, although I’m not sure how to interpret the “After the initial 60 miles, speeds up to 50 or 55 mph are desirable.” So is that the speed threshold to stay under for the first 300 miles? I’ve appended the relevant section form the manual. Also, when should I switch to synthetic?

“A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drive train (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable. While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws, contributes to a good break-in. Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.”

Thanks All!
