Removing Jeep logo on rear hatch

Has anyone done this? I tried using dental floss which was tough because of the indent in the body panel. I was able to get only the 'J' off and im left with 'eep' haha. Has anyone successfully removed this badge, or have a better way of doing it?

use a blowdryer/heatgun to loosen the adhesive and continue using the floss to get it apart. Goo gone next to get rid of the residue and apply a layer of wax after

Know this is old, but hopefully someone will see this.... What does it look like removed. Did you put another emblem or something else there? Sure would like to see a PICTURE with it removed.

The only reason to remove it is to replace it with another. There are alignment holes under the badge and the badge itself has posts on it. I was concerned about it at first but was thankful in the end due to ease of installation. I just replaced my chrome one with a black one. I used a blow dryer and a plastic trim remover tool.

I figured as much. It was the same with my Ram tailgate. I debadged my JGK and didn't even mess with that one. It figures they have to make it unremovable. Pain in the ass to wax around. Same thing with the washer sprays on the hood. Oh well.

I was going to have a custom emblem made for the Ram.

Billet Badges Inc.

Prolly won't mess with the Jeep though.

Re: Removing Jeep logo on rear hatch

Just have the entire indent filled sanded and painted. I'd personally like to see a pic of THAT!

Someone is selling a modified rear hatch in the classifieds, and has pics! The "jeep" on the rear is removed, filled in, and painted over.

Actually, my emblem came off in two pieces. I initially heated the full logo with a heat gun, and slid some fishing line under the chrome letters, just to see what would happen. They separated from the black part, which remained attached to the rear panel.

I then heated the underlying black part, and again used the fishing line, to start getting a corner of the logo to lift, and slowly worked it off. I, too, replaced mine with a black logo, since my GC is black.

In all honesty, I'd like my back panel filled flat, too, but since I live where it's COLD 3 months a year, and that's a DEEP recess to fill, I'd be concerned about the filler material cracking, with the temperature swings my area sees.
