Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

i have to admit, changing the bulb was extremely easy. I'm used to needing to drop a bumper to change a turnsignal on some of my past european cars. Took less than 5 minutes ina dark pep boys parking lot.

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

I also. R rear light message in EVIC appeared in '11 Limited. After removing bulb and seeing filiment was not broken, put same bulb back in. Worked fine for 4 days then got msg in EVIC again. Replaced bulb w/new one, no problem after that.

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

Statistically, people make many more (signal indicated) right hand turns than left hand turns. So the right bulb usually wears out sooner. The manufacturers are using some cheap bulbs on the original build (had to replace both tailights on all my cars within the 1st 2 years). I aways use Sylvania replacements, and have never had to replace any bulb a 2nd time. Always a good idea to not touch the bulb glass (just as true for regular bulbs as for halogens), and give it a once-over wipe with a paper shop towel before installing it. Oil from your fingers can cause bulbs to prematurely burn out. Best luck.

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

Right signal bulb just quit on our 15k mile Overland. These must be the cheapest bulbs on earth.

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

Mine just went this weekend. Same side as well. Looking at the responses below this seems to be a common "burn out" problem. Indicator of something else?

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

Mine only has 12K miles and the dash indicated bad rear right turn signal. Checked the filament with an ohmmeter and it was ok. Switched the bulbs from right to left and still same error. I wonder if the resistance of the filament in the cheap bulbs has anything to do with it???

I will try just buying two new bulbs and put them in. This happened after I did the factory trailer wiring install so I thought I did something wrong. Do not think it was the case........

Re: Right rear turn signal bulb out

I have to say my right rear turn signal at about a little over 15k has also gone out. Man that's disappointed that Jeep decides to burn us with these useless bulbs.
