Do you all still think the Sat,,FM and Nav work as good as the original antenna?

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

2string1,

From post on this forum other members note that there is no change. That is one of the reasons I waited.

Goodluck,

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

Right... Most did not hear a difference when they first put it on. Wanted feedback after they had it a while...

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

Hi Guys,

Installed the sharfin this past weekend. It was really easy. Few pics below to show you how it looks in white. So far no issues with FM or Sat radio. I love how it looks.

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

Just out of curiosity, for those who already have the stock shark fin antenna, is there an easy way to remove it?

The problem I'm having is when I wash the Jeep, water wants to collect in there. Aside from the obvious fear that it could ruin something, it's a pain to still have water dribbling out of there while I'm in the waxing phase.

I was figuring on pulling it up and applying some silicone to keep the water out.

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone has an answer to how to remove the factory shark fin antenna for the reason above...

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

Use a heat gun to soften the double-sided tape holding it on and then use a strong monofilament (fishing line) and work it under the shark fin until it comes loose. I used this method to remove the chrome side moldings on mine so I don't know why it wouldn't work the same way. Good luck!

Re: Sharkfin Antenna Install with Pics

Just put a small bead of clear silicone around it.

I don't want the silicone to show. That's why I want to apply it to the inside edge.
