Re: Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Insert Install

Perhaps it has a practical purpose too in that it might keep more grasshoppers out of the radiator.

The mesh is individual pieces that push into each hole and tabs bend over from behind to hold in place. not sure if the 70th are still available but much easier to install.
Very slick! Do you have a part number?

These "individual pieces" definitely have a slightly different look, as each piece looks like it has a smooth "outline". Not saying anything bad, but if you look very closely between the two, you'll notice a definite difference.

Re: Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Insert Install

So there is the one piece part #82212227 and the 7 piece part #82212293. There is not much difference in the price. So which is better? Anyone with pics of both?

Re: Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Insert Install

If you look at the beginning of this tread, I've posted several pics of the "one-piece" unit from Just for Jeeps. I'm partial to this one. I'd rather have a one piece stainless steel unit, than seven individual pieces that simply "clip" over the existing grill.

Do these 7 slot mesh grills NOT require removing the whole bumper? It will be great if they are just inserts while the bumper is still on.

It certainly looks fantastic but I'd like someone to convince me that the clip-ons are just as good so that I can save work and avoid butchering the existing grill.

I'd say apart from looks, the only real difference is you might come back to your car one day and find the clip-on units missing.

I have seen the clip-ons at a dealer that had tried to be creative with some of their GCs, and they do look quite good. But the one piece mesh just looks much more integrated and authentic.

PS - I'm not saying another GC driver would steal your mesh, of course they wouldnt. It would be a jealous Toyota driver

Re: Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Insert Install

Thanks for the great write up! The grille looks sweet!

I actually, think they both look really nice. For me it comes down to ease of installation. Just the fact that I don't have to remove my bumper and cut out all the pieces makes me lien towards the 7 piece inserts. Both are great options though.
