Summit (2017) Mudflaps and Matts

When I got my 2014 I bought the Mopar Rubber Mats (including the Cargo Liner).

I was never really thrilled with them. They didn't contain everything and were not the easiest to clean.

I noticed the Summit uses different Carpet Matts.

I really trash my Jeep Winter Snow (Salt) and lots a Sand from a Dirt/Gravel Road and Driveway I live on.

But how are these "Berber" Matts. Do they Protect things (Dirt and Sand?). How are they to clean.

How are the OEM Rubber Matts that fit Summit. Are the Husky ones I read often about better and do they make them for the Summit.

Mudflaps:

I sure would like to avoid Mudflaps. I was trying to kid myself they are less needed on the Summit. But After reading the Mudflap thread (again) looks like the argument is no different for the Summit than any other Trim. And you can now get the OEM Summit Mud Flaps. Anything to consider besides the OEM ones.

Any thoughts on this?

What is a fair price for OEM (or other) MudFlaps?

Any carpeted mats I ever had I washed when washing the car with the same soap. If they get really dirty I pull out the pressure washer and give them a shot.

The new Summit Matts don't look like Carpet. Not sure exactly what they are. They are kind of neat. But I'm curious how they do, compared to a standard full rubber matts.

And how they clean.

I read they are Berber, which has to do with the weave, not the material.

"Berber carpets are named for the traditional hand-woven carpets of the Berber people of North Africa. Modern industrialized Berber carpets are a modern style of carpet, distinguished by a loop pile construction type that gives a similar appearance to the distinct knot of traditionally woven Berber carpets. "

Re: Summit (2017) Mudflaps and Matts

I ended up getting OEM mud flaps and matts.

Read a few posts on the weather tech matts being too thin( especially the cargo Matt) and it sliding around. OEM matts were also a lot cheaper than weather tech. $94 for front and back.

The only matts that changed since 2014 were the front.

The Mud flaps are nice. No holes need to be drilled for the rear. But 10 holes for the front (all rivets). Front are not as sturdy as rear. No removing these for off road.

You need a rivet gun to install. 1/4" drill hole is the rivit size.

Re: Summit (2017) Mudflaps and Matts

I have the Weathertech liners for the front an rear seats, I'll get the cargo liner later. These are the only mats I buy but they are pricey. I looked at the factory mats but the Weathertech and Husky mats offer much more protection.

Re: Summit (2017) Mudflaps and Matts

Any chance for some pics of the mud flaps after you install them?

Re: Summit (2017) Mudflaps and Matts

Sure. I think they look pretty good on the Red with grey rocker panels.
